Doris Leibinger
Doris Leibinger was born in Stuttgart on July 27, 1934. After graduating from secondary school, she completed a course of study at a private college for interpreters in Stuttgart in 1953 and then worked for Standard Elektrik Lorenz.
She married Berthold Leibinger in 1957 and the couple had three children: Nicola, Regine and Peter. Today, Nicola Leibinger-Kammüller is CEO of TRUMPF SE + Co KG, an international family-run business. Her brother Peter Leibinger is vice chairman of the management board. Her sister, Regine Leibinger, is an architect and co-founder of the American-German architectural office Barkow Leibinger in Berlin.
Throughout her life, Doris Leibinger served on the committees of numerous cultural institutions. She dedicated herself to the promotion of social concerns, including her work as a lay judge for the juvenile courts as well as her involvement in the children's hospice and the Behindertenzentrum, a center for people with disabilities, in Stuttgart. She set up a foundation in 2007 to consolidate her many charitable activities. The Doris Leibinger Stiftung GmbH pursues charitable goals with a focus on helping children and adolescents who find themselves in emergency situations.
Doris Leibinger passed away on January 30, 2021.
