Data protection notice for event participants: Disclosure of data
We collect and process personal data in order to process our funding measures, to inform you about new funding lines of our foundation and to implement our own projects. We take the issue of data protection very seriously and take the necessary technical and organizational measures to secure and protect your personal data. Personal data is collected, stored and processed in accordance with the applicable data protection laws and other European and German legal provisions. The processing of personal data is based on Art. 6 DSGVO.
In doing so, we carefully balance our own legitimate interests against the interests of the data subjects and take the interests of the data subjects into account by observing the legal limits applicable to the collection, storage and processing of personal data and by safeguarding the rights of the data subjects. Our own legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 f GDPR lie in the implementation of our non-profit work for the benefit of our project partners and possible future funded institutions.
We store and use personal data only as long as we are legally obligated to do so or as long as we can assume that our promotional offers are thematically relevant to the person addressed. If we become aware that our information is not desired or that information we have used is no longer up-to-date, we will immediately delete the contact data.

Privacy information for contacting us
On the website, it is possible to contact the Berthold Leibinger Stiftung and, for example, to send unsolicited funding requests to us by e-mail. The personal data transmitted in this context will be used exclusively to respond to the respective inquiries. They are deleted when their knowledge is no longer required for this purpose, unless legal provisions justify longer storage.
Right of objection
If your personal data is processed on the basis of legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit f. DS-GVO, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data, provided that there are grounds for doing so that arise from your particular situation. We will then no longer process the personal data in the event of a justified objection.
Data deletion
Insofar as your data is no longer required for the aforementioned purposes or if its storage is inadmissible for other legal reasons, we will delete it. The only exception to this is data that has been collected lawfully and which we are obliged to retain for legal reasons. Please note that whenever data is deleted, it is initially only blocked and then only finally deleted after a time delay, in order to prevent accidental deletion or possible intentional damage. For technical reasons, data may be duplicated in backup files and service mirroring. Such copies are also deleted only after a time delay for technical reasons.

Use of our website
It is possible to contact us via the website of the Berthold Leibinger Stiftung and, for example, to send unsolicited funding requests to us by e-mail. The processing of the data is carried out in accordance with our data protection instructions (see information obligation according to Art. 13 GDPR).
You can visit our website without providing any personal information. Each time one of our website pages is accessed, the web server automatically stores only the IP address, date and time of your request, the time zone difference from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), the content of your request (specific site), the access status/http status code, the respective quantity of data transmitted, the website from which the request is sent, the browser, the operating system and its interface, as well as the language and version of the browser software. These data are never stored specifically to your person. These access data are evaluated exclusively for the purpose of ensuring trouble-free operation of our site and to improve our services. If the IP address is to be regarded as personal, it will be deleted after 90 days at the latest, unless there are other compelling reasons to the contrary.
We use the open source software Matomo (formerly Piwik) on the pages of our website for the statistical evaluation of visitor access. We integrate videos from the internet video portal youtube.com of YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA ("YouTube"), represented by Google, on this website via YouTube plugins.
Every time you visit a page on this website that offers one or more YouTube video clips, a direct connection is established between your browser and a YouTube server in the USA. The information that you have visited this page with your IP address is transmitted directly from your browser to the YouTube server and stored there. The Berthold Leibinger Stiftung currently operates channels on Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube. The extent to which there is joint responsibility for processing with the respective operators of these channels is currently still a matter of legal dispute.
